So as I sit here ramming minstrels in to my mouth with my 1yr crying cause she's tired and settling her down on the boob I was wondering how many of us probably took our 'old life' for granted, even if it was going to the toilet in peace or sitting for 5mins to quickly paint your toe nails, So..... you are given a whole 24 hours to yourself! No mum guilt included just well deserved time to yourself so what do you do?

Mine would be a lie in followed by a shopping trip and pamper session then in the even big a romantic meal with my husband and either the cinema or bowling (something we can enjoy and have a laugh with) then the night just the two of us xx

Sleep! Have a massage (never had a proper one but I like the idea of them). Get dressed in some nice clothes (no stains or stickers) and put actual makeup on to go eat a hot meal I haven't had to cook. And then sleep some more 😊 I might even let my other half come so I have some one to talk to. Hehe.

Sleep sleep and sleep! Never felt so slept deprived ever. It would be nice to have a cuppa tea without being interrupted and to finish it before it turned cold. The simple pleasures of life..

A long hot bubble bath with a book, or one of those lazy sundays me and my other half used to have just watching tv in bed, talking, eating and being naughty 😉 all day long xxx

If you asked me this in the early days, I would definitely say sleep. But now she is 1 and starting to sleep through, I don't feel as sleep-deprived (Although we still have the odd bad night).

I always say "I wish I would have travelled more before I had her". Now, I know there's not many places I could visit in 24 hours, but I'd definitely like to get on a train and travel to another city and do some shopping (for my own clothes) and stay at a hotel with a swimming pool and a hot tub to relax and then go out for a few drinks with my Husband (and listen to music that isn't nursery rhymes) before having a good long sleep. Then be sure to have a couple of drinks and a nice, undisturbed pub lunch as we make our way back home.

I left my little ones (well, not really that little, they were 4 and 6) for 2 days this Spring and went on a scrapbook retreat. It was wonderful, I had my own little lodgeroom so could sleep as long as I wanted (although no bath, which was disappointing) and then spent many hours in adult company doing my hobby and had breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks provided! I felt so guilty to go and did facetime a lot but it was lovely just to be me, not mummy.

Haha! I know what you mean! My little one who's just turned 4 months has started to do the odd night of sleeping better but still has the knack of wanting a feed just as dinner is ready - so many cold dinners! Would be nice to eat together with hubby once in a while!

Oh that sounds fab. I would definitely have a lie in then take my time getting ready and actually put make up on properly. I would then take myself shopping and go for a massage followed by a nice romantic meal in the evening with husband then the cinema.

This is such a good question !! I think i would lie in bed snoozing until i got bored. Then have a bath that i could get into while still hot and not be interrupted by the kids or other half! Get dressed, go out for a meal and then come home for more sleep !!!

After being married for 6 years hubby and I went away for 1 night for our wedding anniversary a few weeks ago. Our girls (nearly 4 and 1.5) stayed at my inlaws. We dropped them off at like 8am Saturday morning and picked them up at 4pm Sunday afternoon.

We went shopping and I pretty much went into every shop possible just because I could, lol. I didn't have to think will my pram fit in here, or wonder if my eldest will pick everything up, break something, throw a tantrum cos she can't have something. I could actually just 'look'.

We then had lunch out and didn't have to share our food with the kids, hahaha. Then we made our way to our hotel, we both wanted to 'relax' and not be busy going out for tea or visiting places etc. We chose a hotel with a pool and spa and lovely views of the country side. We sat outside in the beer garden and had a drink and then went and relaxed in the pool. Even the next morning we didn't have a lay in, well we did I guess (7am, lol). Had breakfast bought to our room and went to the pool for 9am and spent 2 hrs relaxing in the pool, going in the spa etc.

It was amazing and we both realised we definitely took our before life for granted.

Sleep and more sleep 🙈 I would also go for a massage ( probable couples massage) as my body feels like that of a 70year old woman with having to deal with 2 under 2.  And just relax with a book or have the tv on without any kids channels and the finger family song 😝

Controversial.. no long lie!

Reason:

Wake around 7am, warm bubble bath with the iPad catching up on tv/ book, cup of coffee and a slice of toast with jam

trip to the salon for hair and nails

lunch with some girlfriends with a couple of cocktails

hot stone massage and nap

Romantic dinner with the husband followed by a night in a hotel *wink wink*
