Vlog Of The Week: What To Pack: Kids Carry On | Emily Norris

This week’s Vlog Of The Week is by the lovely Emily Norris. Her video on What To Pack: Kids Carry On is all about her impressive preparation for a 9 hour flight with two children and a baby. In this vlog she inspires us that anything is possible when you put your mind to it – including a long haul flight during the day with 3 little ones!

She has some incredible ideas for activities and distractions, snacks and storage. She really does make it look easy! Emily’s carry on ideas are so inspired we just had to shine a spot light on them and make it our Vlog Of The Week. Any parent will testify that travelling is not easy to do with little ones, so hats off to Emily who clearly knows a thing or two about how preparation is everything when you’re a mum! We’re sure these insider tricks to make flights more enjoyable – for the kids (and the other passengers too!) will come in very handy one day. Suddenly we’re tempted to book a holiday! (Thanks Emily!)

Vlog Of The Week: Feeling Isolated & Lonely Sometimes As A Stay At Home Mum

This week’s Vlog Of The Week is by Alex Gladwin, it’s called ‘Feeling Isolated And Lonely Sometimes As A Work At Home/Stay At Home Mum’.

The title kind of says it all, but we think that it’s an incredibly brave and honest vlog that so many mums can relate to. Motherhood is often described as lonely, but beyond that, feeling isolated isn’t discussed as much as it should be. Long days at home with little ones can be mentally challenging and emotionally difficult when you’re the only adult company you keep. Alex eloquently puts into words how loneliness can manifest in motherhood and in doing so manages to connect with so many other mums at the same time. Having only gone live a few days ago the comments under this video are full of other mother’s feeling the exact same thing.

Alex ends the vlog talking about some of the steps she is going to take to try and combat the loneliness in her life. We think she is amazing, for talking about what so many of us try to hide. Mums are very good at pretending everything is alright but actually, mums often feel alone.

Vlog Of The Week | Stop Being A B*tch Why Women Should Support Each Other

This week’s Vlog Of The Week has a strong message which we can all get behind. Stop Being A B*tch Why Women Should Support Each Other, by Bethanie Lunn. Her straight talking style is really refreshing as she mentions school gate bullying and bitchiness – not between children but between grown women. We’ve all got much too much going on in our lives to allow this kind of snipey, nasty behaviour to follow us around into motherhood.

Bethanie calls on us all to stop being b*tches and to basically – be nice. We all know just how hard it is to juggle everything as a mother so rather than creating friction we should embrace other women and support them.

We’re all about supporting mums and women at Channel Mum – no matter what your family dynamic is like, whether you’re a fashionista mum, a working mum, a homeschooler or a combination feeder, we’re all made up of many, many different parts, and we like to celebrate them all. Bethanie really gets it and her vlogs are always refreshingly frank about what mum life is like. Relatable, funny and real, we had to put Bethanie’s vlog as our Vlog Of The Week. Have a little watch here:

Vlog Of The Week | 2017 Goals and Positivity

It’s a brand new year and we have a really lovely Vlog Of The Week to start us off on the right note. We’re putting the spotlight on a vlog from Jessica Avey, ‘2017 Goals and Positivity’ – it’s a great video to start the new year with. Jessica has reflected on her 2016, which was a very challenging year for her family. In the vlog she recaps how she felt as her sister in law, then mother both got diagnosed with cancer, how she worried about her mum ever getting to meet her second son, Jenson when she was pregnant and how the strain of all these things impacted her relationship as well.

Jess has been through a hell of a year, sadly ending with the loss of her sister in law. But there have been positives too. Jess has shared the strength she found when her mother was given the all clear, and how baby Jenson brought light into her family.

Despite going through such challenging times, Jess is approaching 2017 with a real zest for life and positive goals to work towards. Her resolutions or goals are really humbling and inspiring and we can’t wait to see her achieve them. Her positive nature and honest account of her 2016 can’t fail to move you. If you want to feel motivated and inspired then you have to give this vlog a watch.

Vlog Of The Week: Pay Day Haul From Brummy Mummy

It’s our second ever Vlog Of The Week, which is our new way of highlighting some of the amazing vlogging talent that’s out there.

As you know there are hundreds of mum (and dad) vloggers plugged into Channel Mum and each week we’re inundated with all the amazing uploads. We love seeing what everyone is up to and this week we’ve chosen a really feel good vlog that definitely gave us that Friday feeling.

Vlog Of The Week – Pay Day Haul – Crap I’ve Bought When Poorly

Emma Conway aka Brummy Mummy Of Two has been a bit poorly lately and confined to her dressing gown and house, but she’s never one to let life get her down.

Emma’s latest Pay Day Haul video is full of amazing seasonal bargains for Halloween as well as some practical mum fashion and Lush goodies (who doesn’t love a Lush haul?).

It’s our Vlog Of The Week because of a Friday we love a bit of haul and we’re genuinely obsessed with her sense of humour. If you can get through this without laughing then quite frankly we don’t know how to cheer you up!

Most of all after watching this video all we can think about is her living in a lighthouse wearing her Primark jumper and Joules raincoat and baking apple pies! (Watch it to see what we mean):

Vlog of The Week: IVF Diary by Jules Furness

This week we’re kicking off a brand new feature, our Vlog Of The Week, which is our way of highlighting some of the amazing vlogging talent that’s out there.

We have hundreds of  mum (and dad) vloggers plugged into Channel Mum and each week we’re inundated with all the amazing uploads. From honest and often heartbreaking stories to fun and imaginative ideas for playtime with little ones, the breadth and depth of content made by our vlogging community is something to be celebrated. And all of it touches on what it means to be a parent today.

In this new feature we’ll be choosing a vlog to highlight on our site and our social media, every single week. Whether it’s a vlog that we can’t stop talking about or a vlog that covers something we think more people need to know about, our Vlog of The Week is our little way of saying – WOW.

This is our first Vlog Of The Week and it’s a particularly special one from vlogger Jules.

Vlog Of The Week – Thrown A Curve Ball By Jules Furness

Jules Furness is mama to son Josh and is now on her IVF journey to conceive a sibling for Josh. Josh is her and Steve’s son through adoption.

After going through the menopause as a teenager, Jules has had a lot of struggles to get to this point and watching her open up so honestly about what her IVF journey is like, is nothing short of humbling. Always genuine, never afraid to hold back on the hard parts, Jules has documented her IVF story in a way that will be so helpful and inspiring to so many others in a similar situation.

We’ve chosen this powerful vlog to launch our Vlog of the Week, it shows her in Prague after her scan at the Fertility Clinic which returned an unexpected result. Hearing about the impact it had on her and seeing her talk about her worries, fears and hopes is heartbreaking viewing at times, but her resilience and her dedication to shining a light on every part of her IVF journey can only be helpful for others facing fertility issues. That’s why we’ve decided to highlight it as our Vlog Of The Week, watch it below and we think you’ll agree it’s very well deserved.
