Mother’s Day is special for all mums, as it makes us reflect on how motherhood has changed our lives and all the wonderful things it has brought with it. Of course, it’s not all Mother’s Day breakfast in bed and being showered with Mother’s Day gifts by your little ones – you might have to honour Mother’s Day without your mother being physically present for instance, so it can be an emotional time. In these Mothers Day videos, our mums discuss these kinds of challenging issues, as well as the more lighthearted subjects such as Mother’s Day gift ideas, how to make brilliant Mothers Day cards, and lots of fun Mother’s Day activities.
When is Mother’s Day?
Mother’s Day 2017 is on Sunday 26th March in the UK and is officially called Mothering Sunday. Other countries celebrate on different days but in the UK it is always on the fourth Sunday in Lent.
Why do we celebrate Mother’s Day?
At Channel Mum, every day is a mother’s day of sorts (!) but Mothering Sunday officially honours mothers, motherhood, and mothers in society, and has been celebrated for over 100 years. In recent years, it has arguably become a little over-commercialised, so it’s important to remember what it is really all about. We like to focus on the more fun, creative, and lovings aspects of the day, so you will find plenty of videos about Mother’s Day crafts, Mother’s Day card making videos, and how to make fantastic homemade Mothers Day gifts. If you find a particular video about Mother’s Day that inspires or touches you, please make sure to leave a comment.
