How Will I Feel at 20 Weeks?

At 20 weeks you may be feeling a huge sense of ‘OMG it’s going so quickly!’ Already you are at the halfway point and around this time your next scan should be able to tell you whether you’re having a boy or a girl – if you want to find out! Your tummy may be a little bit sore or achy as your belly stretches and grows to accommodate your growing bundle. Make sure you mention any pains to your midwife – they have lots of sound advice.

How Big is My Baby at 20 Weeks?

Your baby is the size of a melon at 20 weeks and weighs around 300g. It may be around this time that you feel very powerful kicks from your baby and they’re certainly busy moving around, napping and flexing their limbs. Your baby will be developing vernix which a fatty greasy substance that coats their body. It helps to protect their skin from drying out and also helps to move your baby down the birth canal when the time is right.
