Meningitis and sepsis have a lot in common; both present with similar symptoms and are life threatening if your child doesn’t receive medical treatment as soon as possible.
What are the symptoms of meningitis? A child with meningitis would be extremely unwell, in this video Dr Dawn Harper explains the exact symptoms to look out for and when you need to take your child to hospital.
What is sepsis? Sepsis, or septicemia as it’s sometimes referred to, is essentially blood poisoning from an infection. It can take hold very quickly, so any child that suddenly seems very unwell should get checked out by a medical professional immediately.
