There can be lots of things you can do to help nappy rash, from special nappy rash creams to letting your baby’s bottom have time with no nappy on. You might find that cleaning the area more often will calm down the rash and it’s worth trying different washing powders and soaps and just cleaning with cotton wool and water if it persists incase your baby has sensitive skin.
All babies are different and nappy rash can be caused by a number of things and if you baby has sensitive skin you might find they are prone to nappy rash. They may be allergic to some of the products you are using on their skin. Often nappy rash may be a reaction to the ammonia that is in their pee so they may need their nappy changing more frequently. If your baby has recently taken antibiotics that can also cause nappy rash.
