Children and a vegan diet

It is possible to bring  your children up on a vegan diet but you do need to make sure that you monitor their diet carefully so that it includes everything they need and their diet includes enough vitamins and calories. The Department of Health recommends that all children aged 6 months to 5 years are given vitamin supplements containing vitamins A, C and D every day and this is no different for children being brought up vegan. You might want to consider additional supplements if you are worried and it’s recommended you talk to your Health Visitor and consult a dietician if you have any concerns.
