There’s no doubt about it – teething can be a miserable time, both for baby and for parents! As those little pearls start to poke through your baby can be subjected to a lot of discomfort. But did you know that baby massage can help to relieve the pain associated with teething? Massage works for the same reason that babies tend to bite down on everything that comes within a few inches from their face – the pressure will help to relieve the pain.
There are a couple of specific strokes that are particularly soothing for teething, and in this third video of our Baby Massage Course, expert Gayle Berry is here to show you step by step how to do them.
Make sure you’ve watched part one of the Baby Massage course before you dive into this one, as it gives you an overview of everything you need to know before you get started. You can watch part one right here.
We also have a video that shows you massage strokes to help treat colic and constipation, and you can watch that right here.
And for the next video in the course make sure to check back to this page next week.
Don’t forget if you have any questions about baby massage (or anything else for that matter!) to head on over to our Chat and Support Group.
The baby massage strokes that we use to help with teething are as follows:
– The smile over the lip
– The smile under the lip
– Jaw circles
Watch the full video to find out exactly how to do each of these strokes.
