Baby Sleep Update/ Chat- 15 Month Old Sleep Aids and Routines- November 2017

Jessica Anne

Hi Everyone,

This is a ‘Baby Sleep Update’ for my 15-month-old daughter Emme.

Sleep in our house something that affects our daily life. As many parents will know, having young children is a routine of sleeping and eating. Especially when they are small. Emme is now 15 months and her sleep routine is still very much up in the air. She is my second child and unlike Tommy who was in his own room at a year old, she is currently still sleeping next to me in my room. I find this works well for us, because I am still breastfeeding her.

Recently I have felt that her night time routine is unpredictable and still at 15 months she has a habit of feeding like a new born! Which can be exhausting. With this in mind, I have started to put in place some sleep aids to help the coming months go smoother, where we will be putting the side on the cot and eventually moving her to her own room. I feel this is a process of events which will prepare her for this separation from me, which needs to be done gradually. For her and for me.

So, in this vlog I talk about what our routine is at the moment, what sleep aids are in place and what my plans are for the future.

I am really enjoying sharing my mummy experiences and professional childcare practitioner views with all of you. Being a Mummy is one of the most challenging/ rewarding experiences of my life, and I have learnt so much through a lot of trial and error, that I want to share my experience with you all.
