After two very fast natural labours, The Wilky Ways were facing an induction for their third baby boy, who still hadn’t made an appearance at 41 weeks and 2 days. The morning of the induction however, Joanna woke up with contractions and she was in labour without the need for assistance. Will it be as quick as her previous labours? First of all, don’t panic. Lots of babies are born past their due date, and usually it’s just because your due date is really just an estimate and it’s quite likely that it will be slightly off. As much as you may be desperate to get your baby out into the world, usually intervention (sweeps, inductions etc) won’t be considered until at least 41 weeks, if not closer to 42 weeks, when it might become more risky to continue with the pregnancy.
